摘要	中华鬣羚是CITES附录I物种,已被IUCN列为近危种,是国家Ⅱ级保护野生动物。国内鲜有鬣羚种群数量的报道。2011年10月,采用样线调查法对白马雪山鬣羚的数量进行调查,共在白马雪山叶日片区布设9条样线总计48.3 km。研究表明,叶日片区为鬣羚的理想栖息地,区内鬣羚种群的平均种群密度为2.58±1.25头/km~2,整个叶日片区约有鬣羚140头,80%的置信区间为72～208头。本研究还发现,鬣羚在叶日片区内具有来自狼等肉食动物的捕食风险。在生境选择上,鬣羚偏好利用高山栎林带,样线调查中鬣羚的主要粪堆(76%,n=251)都分布于高山栎林生境内。该类生境的特点为高郁闭度和高隐蔽性,鬣羚的这种选择模式可能是为了躲避捕食者。研究区内,鬣羚与高山麝、毛冠鹿、中华斑羚、岩羊和水鹿等具有生态位重叠,这些有蹄类动物在生存环境严酷的高海拔地区的竞争及共存机制有待深入研究。; Chinese serow（Capricornis milneedwardsii） is a second class national protected species in China.It is listed as near threatened（NT） in IUCN＇s Red List and is included in Appendix I of CITES.Few studies haven been done on population abundance of Chinese serow.We conducted transect counts of dung to estimate population abundance and distribution of Chinese serow at Yeri,Baima Xueshan Reserve in October 2011.Nine transects covering a total of 48.3 km were surveyed. We found Yeri supported high abundance of Chinese serow at a population density of 2.58±1.25 serow/km,and the population size in the study area was estimated to be 140 individuals,with the 80%,confidence interval ranging from 72 ~208 serow. The population was under high predation pressure from carnivores such as wolves.The species preferred oak forest,and habitat selection might be based on predator avoidance.Serow distribution overlapped ranges of alpine musk deer（Moschus chrysogaster）,tufted deer（Elaphodus cephalophus ）,Chinese goral（Naemorhedus caudatus ）,blue sheep（Pseudois nayaur） and water deer（Cervus unicolor）.More research is needed to understand the tolerances for coexistence as well as habitat segregation among these ungulates.
